Q: What is the difference between everyday packaging and gift packaging?

A: Everyday packaging is what we sell in the store. It is a white box with a Bankhead Chocolate’s sticker on top and is sometimes referred to as bulk packaging. It is less durable and not preferred when shipping. The gift packaging is a fancy box where each piece of candy is placed in individual inserts is preferred when shipping.

Q: How long will my chocolates keep?

A: After you open your chocolates, if you keep them in a cool place they should last up to a month (with the exception of Chocolate Drop Turtles). If you keep your chocolates sealed they should last up to 4 months (with the exception of Chocolate Drop Turtles). Chocolate Drop Turtles will last up to 6 weeks if kept sealed. Your chocolates can also be frozen and kept 6+months. If you choose to freeze them, let them sit at room temperature before opening the box to help prevent condensation from forming on the chocolates.

Q: Why don’t you ship during the summer? Can’t you use dry ice?

A: During the summer months it can get to hot to ship. To keep the chocolates from melting they would need to be shipped next day air, the box would be lined, and dry ice/ice packs would be placed with the chocolates. While this is possible, the shipping and handling charge exceeds the price of the chocolates. Even though we do our best to package your chocolates so they will not melt we cannot guarantee it will melt in transit. However if you are still interested in shipping during this time please call us!

Q: Are you open year round?

A: Bankhead’s use to close during the summer due to the heat, but we are happy to say we are open all year now! We have even add a Bistro for the summer months!
